What is the difference between F1 and Cart?

I know they are both open wheeled cars but that is about it. Do they race the same type of car? Is it similar to the nationwide series and the cup series, where one is like the minor league? I really have no idea.

  1. huge difference between them.. for starters F1 is much more expensive. some of the F1 teams can spend over 400million in 1 year to develop the car. in F1 the cars are constantly changing from race to race, the teams are manufactures themselves! so they are constantly introducing new parts to the cars all across the spectrum. every year the teams build a brand new car from scratch, in CART they just buy the car.. the drivers in F1 are also the top drivers in the world. plus F1 will always be at the forefront of automotive technology as long as the FIA allows it. and the performance difference is enormous theres is nothing that can rival the brute force of a F1 car. and one of the biggest and crappiest differences of all.. F1 has a **** named Max Mosley who makes the rules and regulations ><

  2. Formula one is what it's name implies and CART is no more.

If you mean Indycar then it's the top American formula.

Just in case you were wondering F1 is much faster round a track but doesn't race on ovals.

The motorsport ladder goes something like this:Karting, Formula Ford, Formula Renault, Formula 3, GP2, Formula one.

Indycar is one could say part of the American motorsport ladder, the highest profile American formula and also a place where professional racing drivers that fail to get into F1 can turn to for some fast racing and some good money.

Oval racing is an American tradition, Europeans prefer to go round corners more often than not.

Another noticeable difference is that in F1 teams don't buy cars to race them.

They have to build their own under the regulations so not two cars look alike or perform the same.

In Indycars it's just teams buying chassis form chassis manufacturers and engines from engine manufacturers and hiring a driver.

Also F1 doesn't like acting very much, the nauseating performances of a certain female Indy driver off the track trying to draw attention to herself and the sport have more to do with "professional" wrestling than motor racing.

    F1 does have some culture.

It prefers controversy over cheap entertainment.

  3. The difference is Formula 1 is a fast speed races at 200 mph while go-karts can only achieve 60mph.and the drivers get more money in Formula 1 compared to go-karters.

  4. they look similar but F1 is way more advance, more aero dependent and is better at handling sharper turns and carrying more speed, a indy car can go faster but an F1 car has more acceleration power for getting off the grid and what not...F1 is a billion dollar investment, some of the best engines around the world, Ferrari, BMW, McClaren just to name a few and Indy has Honda so when u compare the two they may be similar in types of vehicles they drive but they are very different
