What is the difference between George Bush being impeached and Bill Clinton?

Some people have said GWB is being Impeach for doing his job to protect the US, Clinton did what he did to protect only himself.

First, GWB lied about the reason for invading Iraq, which resulted in the unnecessary death of over 4000 American service people, whereas Clinton's lies didn't result in any deaths.

  Second, Bush's fibs have cost the American taxpayers over 6 billion dollars for this illegitimate Iraq war, plus over 650k dead Iraqi civilians and the massive destruction of their infrastructure, Clinton's lies were minor and concerned only him.

  Next, just how is the killing of innocent Iraqi's protecting our country, when Saddam posed no immediate or long term threat to our security?

This whole Iraq fiasco in nothing more than Bush's personal vendetta dating back to his father.

  Bush should not only be impeached, but tried in the international court for war crimes.

bill clinton lied under oath and was impeached for it.  he also left a benchmark on the presidency for lack  of ethics, honesty and candor never to be breached.... george bush has done his job properly and simply been the victim of liberal whine...as no impeachable crimes exist for bush, there is a considerable difference.

Clinton and those around him were subpoenaed over questionable land ownership, called the Whitewater scandal, which resulted in secondary information that he had unethical dealings with the intern Monica Lewinsky. He was impeached for allegedly committing perjury and obstruction of justice relating to the previous subpoenas. Two additional articles of impeachment failed to pass a vote: a second case of perjury and an accusation of abuse of power. He was found not guilty of the two charges brought against him by a vote of the Senate.

Bush, in comparison, has not yet been successfully impeached. He has claimed Executive Privilege rights to deny any information subpoenaed from himself and those working directly with him in the Executive Branch relating to: the firing of federal prosecutors, the potentially illegal loss of White House emails, releasing the confidential name of a member of the CIA, and the sources of intel used to rationalize the Iraqi war.

So Clinton was impeached and found not guilty, while Bush has not yet been impeached. That's the only real difference.

Personally I recommend you ask yourself why you need to compare Bush to Clinton? The question of whether Bush should be impeached should stand alone and not require comparison to other Presidents. Has he broken the law and is he or is he not upholding the principles of the Constitution?
