  1. Hindu is a religion and Hindi is a language commonly used by people from India

  2. Hindu describes a person or the culture.

    Hindi  describes the language.

  3. hindi is a language and hindu is a religion.

i get really mad when people mix them up because they are just ignorant.

  4. hindu is what u are and hindi is the language u speak

  5. Hindu describes a people or a religion. Hindi is a language.

Edit:  Technically, the religion itself is Hinduism.  "Hindu" can mean either:

    A native of India.

A person whose religion is Hinduism.

    Something else related to Hinduism.

They are all based on the root word "Hind," meaning "India."  The confusion arises because a Hindu (native of India) is not necessarily a Hindu (a follower of Hinduism) or vice versa.  A native of India also does not necessarily use Hindi.  Other common Indian languages are Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu.

  6. Hindu is a religion

    Hindi is a language

The person who said Hindu is a religion AND a people is wrong; many millions of people who do not speak Hindi are of Hindus.
