  1. Homo sapiens sapiens is a designation to separate recent humans from archaic sapiens. We are all the same species, but archaic H. sapiens was MUCH more robust, meaning more muscular, thicker enamel, and slightly thicker bones. Despite these minor differences, we are the same.

It is pretentious to refer to oneself as H. sapiens sapiens, unless referring exclusively to the less robust more modern human. Otherwise just say H. sapiens.

  2. Homo sapiens "Man who thinks"

    Homo sapiens sapiens "

    "Modern man."

  3. The first died out about 30,000 years ago. The remains of one were discovered in a valley in Germany.

    The other one is...US!

  4. Pretentious? I ain't nobody's b****! I know what I am: I am a homo sapiens sapiens.

  5. The contributors above explained it very well. To add on a quote:

"Homo sapiens is to know. Homo sapiens sapiens is to know that you know."

It's what philosophers call meta-awareness. To not only achieve awareness, but to also be aware that you are aware of the world around you.

  6. Everything that "High Tide" above, said is true, however, in addition to that, the term Homo sapiens sapiens (Man who knows he is wise), came about, to distinguish us, from Homo sapiens neanderthalensis, which is still considered a sub-species of ours, until further ongoing DNA test results come in...
