I'm entering U.S. using the k-1 visa... My question is can we get married right away or do we have to secure first SSN before we can apply for a marriage license? And how long do i have to wait before i can get my SSN or card?

  1. An I-94 is used for those people with tourist visa to be able to go inside the US beyond the border line, wich is nothing like an EAD.

  2. You are given an I-94 when you enter. Give it back when you leave nothing to do with working. You can marry right away and you must get married within 90 days. You can get a conditional SSN once you arrive based on your K-1 Visa. You must apply for a change of status within 90 days of your marriage. You can apply for an EAD at the same time.

  3. Non-LPR foreign nationals who enter the US receive an I-94; EAD's are only for those legally eligible to accept employment.

Marriage license requirements vary by location, but an SSN is not usually required - many foreign nationals get married in the US with no intention of remaining in the US.

  4. marriage comes  frist  then adjustment of status  then apply for social security number
