What is the difference between ISO-9000 and ITIL?

  1. They are both geared towards quality management, but where ITIL is IT-specific, ISO9000 is about quality management in general.  It can be applied to IT, but it was not designed specifically for IT, where ITIL was designed specifically for managing IT operations.
