  1. moonroof is just the piece of glass on the top

The sunroof is the piece of glass that can open

  2. in recent years moonroof means that the glass pops up in the back. Sunroof can slide back or be removed from the car. Most modern cars are a moonroof/sunroof. which means they slide or pop up.

  3. sunroofs open ; moonroofs normally don't..

either way... it's just for marketing :P

  4. It's just marketing.  Ignore it.  If you'll think for a minute, you'll remember that GM called than an "Astro roof".

So you can see that the sun, moon, and stars are all visible through that same thing.

    Always ignore marketing distinctions.

  5. I think the Moon roof is just a stationary piece of glass that you can pop open manually.

And the Sunroof you can open more than one way electrically

    Hope this helps.  Johnny

  6. There's no real definition that is universal:

    Good Luck...

  7. in the daytime it's a sunroof and at night it's a moon roof.

  8. The time of day!!!   LOL!!!

That reminds me of a question that was posed to a weather forecaster... someone said, "WHY do you use the term PARTLY CLOUDY when it's actually PARTLY SUNNY?"  His answer was... "Because you can't have partly SUNNY at NIGHT!"

    Have a great day!
