What is the difference between Napolitan and Tuscan pizza?

Well Naples is were pizza was invented, and I just saw on the BBC how there going to licence the way it is made for purity reasons, as for the main difference, in naples there pizza is made with just crushed tomatos, fresh mozzerella cheese, fresh basil and what ever other garnishes and they going away from the traditional fresh mozzerella to other cheeses like provolone, parmesan and fontina. It is believe the fresh mozzerella is to runny, if they do now it is a processed one drier and less milky.

    Tuscan is more a saucier pizza, the a thicker crust, more bread like, they use a combo of cheeses and are more incline to use a meat garnish, but essentially it is a simialr process to the Neopolitan style, fresh basil is more the style of the Naples style were in Tuscany fresh herbs like oregano, basil and parsley are more the norm.


  2. Napolitan is to New York style pizza what Tuscan is to Chicago style pizza.
