  1. 1) They are both very similar, and 2) depends what ure using them for.

The D80 is the semi-professional version of the D200. The 200 has more frames-per-second when shooting on continuous. This can be useful for shooting sports events. the 200 is also more solidly constructed, using more metal than the 80, and is waterproof. However this makes it much heavier, and if ure not going to subject it to harsh conditions, then there's not much point.

In terms of quality, they both have exactly the same no. of megapixels.

  2. D300

  3. The D200 uses the CF memory card, which all the pro cameras use.  Perhaps the most important feature found on the D200 is the Image Authentication option.  This tags each image so later if there is any concern about photo manipulation such as important editorial shots and shots that may end up in court for what  ever reason ... forensic labs all have the software necessary to interrogate the "original" file to see if any one has attempted to change it in any way.

I always shoot with this feature turned on.  The Nikon D2x, D300 and D3 also have this feature.

Both the D80 and D200 are fine cameras and have features that will keep you busy for years to come ... really the question is, where do you expect to be with your photography in the next five years?
