Some of them are definately one in the same but others are different, as in Obama supports higher taxes Bush does not.  Biden and Bush are also similar.  Biden also voted FOR the war in Iraq.

Obama's voting record shows that he is very liberal and seems to favor a socialistic type of government, a type of cradle to grave nanny state.

If this is what the people want well, fine. But we must realize that the more a government gives to its people, the more they make you their slave by ultimately relying on them for everything.

Bush's policies have always leaned toward a strong capitalistic system with an emphasis on people doing for themselves. He always wanted to make the government role smaller. Unfortunately he has had other outside influences that has cause him to increase government mainly when it comes to Homeland Security.

Regardless of whose name is attached to these basic views, you have to ask yourself; do I want a more limited government, which promotes self reliance with the opportunity to archive or do you want a government that limits the spirit of entrepreneurship and stifles self reliance?

Obama voted for the Bush energy plan in 2005 which gave tax breaks to Big Oil. McCain opposed that bill. So on energy policy they seem similar.But there are some major differences......

Obama wants more troops in Afghanistan and wants to bomb or invade Pakistan. He wants to renegotiate NAFTA with Canada and Mexico, opposes free trade in general, and further expand the national budget. He also wants to decrease capital that is now being used for investment in the economy by increasing taxes on those with money to invest.

I think the rest of the people have pointed out other differences.
