  2. its very simple....in ODI it is one day international.....nd it is the game which is played in one day and overs in that day it self...and it is of 50 overs or less than it till 25 overs.

but in test matches their are 5 days and if first team scores 399 nd other team score 198 so they will be getting followen

  3. One Day Matches are as it says 1 day-50 overs per team, the teams normaly have 5 bowlers who bowl 10 over each..Bowlers are not alowed to bowl any more than 10 overs per match...

Test Matches are normaly played over 5 Days..There are normaly 2 innings for each team(IE) 1st team who bats then comes out to bowl, there are a minimum of 90 overs in a full days play and bowlers can bowl as many overs as they like...

  8. ODI is just a matter of playing 50 overs per side or being bowled out (whichever is earlier)

Test matches have n number of overs to bat or bowl

Test is 5 day match. Per day max of 90 overs bowled.

In ODI a team can bat or bowl only once(one inning)

In test matches its 2 inning affair. You have to bat twice and bowl twice until ten wickets taken or the till target is achieved with bat.

Importance is not the issue dear.

But, legends say test matches are real test of caliber because u are supposed to bat or bowl for a long time facing diffferent toughscenario.

Distinction is necessary because ODI is just a matter of day playing only 50overs a side.Test is the real caliber tester.

Eg: In ODI a team will score 300 in 50overs

but in test matches the same team may score only 190 or 200 losing only 1 wicket(like wise). In test mtaches red balls and white clothes are used

In ODI white balls are used.

  9. Test cricket is a form of international cricket started during the 1876/77 English cricket team's tour of Australia. The very first Test match began on 15 March 1877; Australia won by 45 runs. The Test cricket series between England and Australia is now called The Ashes. Since then, over 1,800 Test matches have been played and the number of Test playing nations has increased to ten with Bangladesh, the most recent nation elevated to Test status, making its debut in 2000. Test matches are two innings per side, and are nowadays restricted to a maximum of five days. In the past, Tests have been played over three, four, or six days, and some have been "Timeless" - played to a finish with no maximum duration. Tests that are not finished within the allotted time are drawn whereas Limited overs matches, also known as "one-day cricket", were introduced in the English domestic season of 1963 in response to demands for a shorter and more dramatic form of cricket. One-day, single-innings, matches often took place before this, but the innovation was the limiting of each side's innings to an agreed number of overs (nowadays usually 40 or 50). The idea was taken up in the international arena in 1971, during England's tour of Australia, when a match was played on the scheduled fifth day of the rained-off third Test. The one-day game has since become a crowd-pleaser and TV-audience-generator across the globe, hastened in part by the success of the inaugural World Cup in 1975. The abbreviations "ODI" (One Day International) or sometimes "LOI" (Limited Overs International) are used for international matches of this type. Innovations have included the introduction of coloured clothing, distinct tournaments, and "day-night" matches (where play extends into the night under floodlights); together with frequent nail-biting finishes and the impossibility of either side opting to play for a draw, these have seen ODI cricket gain many supporters.

  17. Very simple answer.

In ODI series a series of ODI's are played (like 3,5 or 7 ODI's) & in Test series a series of Tests are played (like 3 or 5 Tests) between two countries. If more than 2 countries are involved then it is called as Tournament.

  20. One Day International (ODI) is a form of cricket, which is played over 50 overs per side between two national cricket teams.

An ODI is contested by 2 teams of 11 players each.

The Captain of the side winning the toss chooses to either bat or bowl (field) first.

The team batting first sets the target score in a single innings. The innings lasts until the batting side is "all out" (i.e., 10 of the 11 batting players are "out") or all of the first side's allotted overs are used up.

Each bowler is restricted to bowling a maximum of 10 overs (fewer in the case of rain-reduced matches and in any event generally no more than one fifth or 20% of the total overs per innings).

The team batting second tries to score more than the target score in order to win the match. Similarly, the side bowling second tries to bowl out the second team for less than the target score in order to win.

If the number of runs scored by both teams are equal when the second team loses all of its wickets or exhausts all its overs, then the game is declared as a 'tie' (regardless of the number of wickets lost by either team).

Test cricket is the longest form of the sport of cricket. It has long been considered the ultimate test of playing ability between cricketing nations

Test matches are a subset of first-class cricket. However, the step up in required skill from normal first-class cricket to Test cricket is considerable, with many players who excel in the first-class game proving unable to handle Test cricket. Test matches are played between national representative teams which have "Test status", as determined by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
