  1. the main difference is that cpvc is used for domestic water , the water you drink , and it is CTS ( copper tube size ) which makes it universal with other fittings and materials that  use CTS  ie copper , pex  etc. pvc is used for drainage ,waste , and venting and domestic water but it is not copper tube size. PVC and CPVC are both "plastic " but different uses  generally

    In reading the above reference, CPVC can be used at higher temperatures than PVC; it is also more ductile.
