  1. Hi,

Photoshop comes with Photoshop elements.. so no need to worry.

jus install Photoshop and start rocking...

for more helps you can search in this site about photoshop elements

  2. Photoshop 6.0 is different than Photoshop Elements 6.0.

Photoshop is a heavy duty graphic tool - the "full" version. Photoshop 6.0 is pretty old (many years old).

Photoshop Elements is its own program and is similar to Photoshop. It has a similar interface and the tools are quite common between the two.  Photoshop Elements 6.0 is brand new and is quite useful for photographers and scrapbookers.

Both can be extended with the use of actions and filters. Photoshop is very expensive - Photoshop Elements is much more reasonably priced.

I would recommend avoiding Photoshop 6.0 (very old) but I would suggest Photoshop Elements as a great tool to use.

  3. I Thought Photoshop elements a knocked down freebee baby version of photoshop?

  4. Unless you're a professional in the advertising or photography industry, my advice is to go with Elements. It has 75-80% of the functionality of Photoshop, at 20% of the price. Photoshop Elements 6 (the currrent version) costs $80-100. Photoshop CS3 (the current version) goes for anything up to $650.

Elements is packaged for the consumer; Photoshop is designed for the professional. In practical terms, that means that Elements has a more user-friendly interface. It's much less intimidating for the new user and has lots of helps and aids.

Best of all, if at some time in the future you decide to move up to Photoshop, the similarities between Elements and Photoshop mean you won't have learned bad habits. What you've learned to do in Elements gives you an advantage in using Photoshop.
