  1. I think Polarized makes it have that shinny reflects on the outside of them instead of just black or whatever color they are.

  2. The polarized lenses cut reflected glare more than regular lenses do.

For instance, beside a lake, you can see down into the water with a polarized lens when the sun is shining on it , but you will just see the surface of the water without it.

But...a polarized lens can also cause problems seeing certain colors of digital readings, like on dashboards....or GPU's

  3. One is polarized, one is not. They are both tinted and in the case of the G-15 and it's polarized counterpart, they are both cutting glare with a dark lense. G-15 happens to be green. Polarization does come in other colors, and what you are doing in the sun and what your personal preferences would be will dictate what color you get.

    How Do Polarized Lenses Work?

Light reflected from surfaces like a flat road or smooth water is generally horizontally polarized. This horizontally polarized light is blocked by the vertically oriented polarizers in the lenses.

The result: a reduction in annoying and sometimes dangerous glare.

Just os you know, polarized lenses may also react adversely with liquid crystal displays (LCDs) found on the dashboards of some cars or in other places such as the digital screens on automatic teller (bank) machines. The problem with LCDs is that when viewed through polarized lenses from a certain angle, they can be invisible. Some pilots have this same trouble with digital displays in planes as well.  I am always careful to ask if someone rides motorsycles as well, a motorcycle rider needs to be carefull because the glare that is cut by a polarized lense is the same glare that makes water and oil on the road look shiny, and with polarization it might be dangerous if they do not see that a slick area is ahead.  See if the sales people will let you go outside with them or take you with them outside to see what kind of glare they both cut. My vote is for a polarized Maui Jim. Once you see that, you will think that Ray-Ban is junk!
