  1. Reynold's number is the ratio of inertial forces to the viscous forces. Reynold's number is used to determine if the flow is laminar or turbulent. Flows with Reynold number below 2000 are considered laminar flow. Between 2000 - 4000 are intermediate between laminar and turbulent called transition flow. Above 4000 is turbulent flow.

    Froude's number is the ratio of inertia forces to the gravitational forces. Froude's number is used to determine the resistance to a body flowing through a fluid at a specified velocity. Froude's number is equivalent to Mach number in aerodynamics.
