  1. Union has many more rules that make it a nightmare to understand in full, but the rolling rucks & lineouts are the main differences as previoously mentioned. I love the speed of league, but the skills are basically the same.Gotta love ya league!

  2. league players are poofs

    union players are q***r

    ...just kiddin!

  3. The main difference between rugby league and rugby union, is that in union they have a line out and have a rolling tackle system. In league there are no line outs and only six tackles. Also in union its 5 points for a try 3 for penalty or drop goal, and 2 for conversion. In league it's 4 for a try,2 for a penalty, 1 for a drop goal and 2 for a conversion. Hope that helps.

  4. League is a 13-man a side game, Union 15 a side.

  5. Rugby league teams have only 13 players.  Flankers are left out during rugby league.  Rugby union teams have 15 players, 8 in the pack, scrum half and 6 backs. Perhaps the biggest difference is during play.  League is more similar to football in that play is stopped after tackles and teams are allowed six tackles before turning over the ball to the other team.  This style is much more like the downs involved in football.  League seems to be a quicker game because the ball does not get tied up as much in rucks and mauls.  Rugby league also does not use lineouts to restart play after the ball goes into touch.
