Am trying to get a memory car for my camera. But I saw that they offer sd and sdhc. I know that sdhc can go from 4-32. But what else is also a main difference.

  1. SDHC, while having the same form factor as SD, is a different card.

If your camera has not been designed to use SDHC cards, it won't recognize it when it is inserted.

SD - Good up to 4Gb

SDHC- Much higher capacities - Good up to 32Gb

Check your user's manual, to see if the SDHC card is supported.

  2. its considered a different technology. as you see the HC is High Capacity.. some cameras will take the SDHC, well almost all newer ones will. check the specs and see. it would help more if you included the camera make and model.

  3. The SDHC cards have a faster write speed. If your camera is SDHC compliant there will be less delay between shots.
