  1. Well I'm not too sure about that. I have some Milers I use for track then I use some lighterweight Saucony's for XC.

  2. There are differences between track and XC spikes.

Since for track, you are running on the track and only on the track, they don't need to be to durable. So thats why most of they bottom (also know as "plate") is plastic. Plastic is lighter than rubber.

Xc spikes have rubber bottoms. You'll use them to "grip" on to whatever you are running on. Since XC is grass/trails/dirt/pavement, rubber is durable and will be better to run for XC.

A good site for XC spikes is eastbay:

    http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/advancedS...

I'm not sure what most of your coures surfaces are, but I would highly recommend the Asics Hyer-Rocketgirl XC2.

    http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/productde...

Also if you go to google and search "eastbay coupons" you can find 20% off coupons for the site if you decided to buy from Eastbay.

    Good luck!

  3. Track spikes are light weight.  They have less grip on the bottom and you only have up to 6 inch s***w ins. Cross County are heavier as you are more likely to be running slower due to the distance. As you run slower you drop back onto your heels, this is where most of the extra weight is as there is more padding. Also there will be more grip, more rubber stuff etc on the bottom for grip as it will be muddier. The s***w ins can also be long 12mm or 15mm depending on the course.

The site i would use is sportshoes.com or something like that. Othwise try Sweatshop, every runner should shop there at some stage.
