  1. SP3 is an update we do not really need. When you install it ok, but it makes no difference to your computer. So not installing is fine

We do need SP2, because after microsoft stopped supporting SP1.

Without sp2 we would not be able to install the necessary up dates and therefore put our computer at risk

You did successfully install SP3 and expected that something would be diffrerent.

  2. SP3 contains all the patches that are furnished after SP2 was released. After updating with SP3, you will notice a few delicate changes:

Your networking gets a new "Windows Media Connection", which lets you network additional media sharing hardware's.

WPA2 -- the extra-strong WirelessProtectionAlgorithm format is now supported.

CredSSP service provider for extra security.

Router "Black hole" detection -- Windows now turns on this feature by default.

SP3 is not that big of an fix up, but it is a big improvement in terms of security. It is advocated that you update if you want to have the best security.

  3. Actually I found that SP3 has everything SP2 had, so my worries about updating to SP3 were not really valid. I did that last week and have noticed no difference in my PC. It does fill in a few security holes.
