What is the difference in the Centrino and Pentium processors in computers?

  1. The primary difference between the two is in wireless functionality. The Centrino processor has a mobile intel chipset for wireless connectivity.  Pentium has a mobile chip too, but it's more low end.  Centrino is high end and will offer you a better connection.

    Both are good and either one will give you a great experience.  However, if you plan to use it for a wireless connection, then go with the Centrino.  Even if you don’t plan to go wireless now, still get the Centrino.  You may decide to do it later.
