  1. The orthodontist is a dentist specialized in orthodontia. You could say he/she is a dentist that has gotten a lot of extra training on braces.

  2. The Dentist does more of cleaning and medical stuff, The Orthodontist does more of cosmetic stuff.

  3. VERY EASIY.

EVERY ORTHODONTIST (BRACES) WAS A DENTIST FIRST. DENTISTS CAN ALSO DO BRACES IF TRAINED FOR THESE. AN ORTHODONTIST LIMITS HIS/HER PRACTICE TO ONLY BRACES INSTEAD TO ALL OTHER DENTAL WORK.

  4. It's like the difference between an alcoholic and a drunkard.  It's a matter of money and standing.

  5. Dentist: Dentistry is the "evaluation, diagnosis, prevention and/or treatment (nonsurgical, surgical or related procedures) of diseases, disorders and/or conditions of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area and/or the adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body".[1] Those in the practice of dentistry are known as dentists.

Orthodontist: Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the study and treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both.

  6. Ortho does braces and retainers and stuff.

    Dentist doesn't.

    Ever heard of google?
