What is the difference between a .Dual core processor and core 2 processor?

  1. essentially its the same thing. "Core 2" is the brand name for intels dual core processors. Dual core is what it physically is - ie it the processor has 2 cores.

  2. The Core 2 Duo CPUs are a line of processors from Intel. Whereas dual cores are a general term for CPUs with two cores.
