What is the difference between a Jumbo Certificate Deposit and a regular Certificate Deposit?

Also what is the difference between a Money Market Account and a Money Market Fund? Just interested in different banking accounts.

  1. Bank CDs are usually issued in units of $1,000 and insured up to 100,000, so regular CDs are inunits up to $1,000 to $100,000,

    A jumbo CD is over $100,000

    A money Market Account is one in which the deposits are invested into a mutual fund investment that is usually invested into Government or State issued and/or backed securities or in some cases are used by the broker/dealer in the operations of their business.

    A money Market Fund which is professsionally managed is one in which the deposits are invested into a  other products that invest in government or state issued and/or back securities.
