  1. Par 5 = a hole that allows 5 swings of the golf club to make "par" (even).  If you make it in 4 swings, it's a birdie.  6 swings = bogey.

Par 4 = a hole that allows 4 swings of the golf club to make "par".  etc, etc

  2. on a par 3..in order to get a par...the ball has to go in the hole in 3 shots

on a par 4(a longer hole) it should take 4 shots

    par 5...5 shots

on a par three...you should get the ball on the green on your first shot and 2 putt

on a par for...you should get hte ball on the green in two shots

    and on a five...3 shots

    and hten you two putt

  3. A Par 5 is a hard hole, a Par 4 is moderately hard, and Par 3 is the easiest type of hole or course there is (not including mini-golf/putt-putt)

  4. Par 5- longest type of hole on golf course. takes the average person 5 strokes to get to the green.

Par 4- 2nd longest hole on golf course. takes the average person 4 strokes to get to the green.

Par 3- shortest hole on the golf course. takes the average person 3 strokes to get to the green.

  5. Par 3 means it should take on average 3 strokes to finish the hole, and so on.

  6. It the number of wacks at the ball you should need to sink the ball.  The higher the number, the more challenging the hole.

Tee off counts as 1.  A fairway shot is 2.  A putt is 3.  That would be a par 3 hole.   If you can do it in 2, that's called a "birdie"

  7. par is the number of shots you have till you start adding points to your score (which is bad). 3 par means you have three shots till you go over par, same for 4 and 5 cept you have four or five shots to make it.

  8. It means the hole is either hard or easy. The higher the par the harder the hole.

  9. Par 3s are shorter than par 4s, par 4s are shorter than par 5s, etc. The lower par means that you have a better shot at getting a par or better because of the shorter yardage. Higher the par, longer the hole.

  10. The difficulty of the hole and the physical length of the hole.  On a par 3, the average player should be able to get the ball in the hole in 3 strokes.  A par 5 will be more difficult or be much longer in yardage with possibly more hazards.

  11. it is the number of strokes it took to get the ball in the hole

  12. Par 5 is longer that the rest of them and Par 3 is shorter.

  13. One stroke.

  14. Par 3- shortest holes on the golf course

Par 4- second shortest holes on the golf course

Par 5- longest hole on the golf course

  15. Par is what the "average" person would score on the hole.  Par 3 is usually short and it should take 3 strokes to get in the hole.  Par 4 is 4 strokes and par 5 is usually a long fairway hole.  Usually people allow for 2 putts, so the par minus 2 is what it should take for the person to make it on the green.
