Question:

What is the difference between a Prince O3 Speetport White Pro and Prince O3 Speedport White?

I'm considering buying one of these but I don't know which one to buy. I'm more of a baseline player and don't like to volley and serve much. I'm a intermediate player; not a beginner but not an expert.

This racket would just be for like a high school varsity team doubles, and just playing around at lessons.

Also what do you guys think of this backpack?

  1. the o3 speedsport white pro would have a thinner frame more for players whove been playing for a long time and for people who generate their own power. id go with the o3 speedsport white.

  2. if you're a intermediate, i would suggest the non-pro.

as the name implies, the pro is more for advanced players as it weighs ahout 12ish oz and that is considered pretty heavy for the racquet market. only players who have signifigantly developed a long, fast swingstroke can handle the swingweight and the weight and lack of power from the pro version.

the non-pro is more intermediate friendly and actually good for doubles.

but if you are thinking about using it for doubles, a better prince racket would be the the speedport black, which from the review at tenniswarehouse, com lists it as perfect for doubles.

check tenniswarehouse.com for more specs on the speedport models and further info.

    hope this helps

  3. The Pro is a couple grams heavier and has a tighter string pattern.  Theats a nice bag.

  4. The difference between there are three main differences between the regular and pro version of the O3 speedport white.

    1) Weight- their is a difference of .5 oz between the rackets, the additional weight is located in the handle making the pro version more head light.  Translated that means it extra weight will add a bit of stability to your stroke but it won't have much of an effect on your ability to react at the net.

    2) String pattern - The pro version has a tighter string pattern.  Since there are more string it will enable you to put more spin on the ball, however the trade off is that you lose a bit of power.

    3) Stiffness - The Pro racket is also a little stiffer.  That generally will provide you with better feel and more control.  There is only a slight difference in the stiffness between these rackets (67 compared to 64)  however the difference in string pattern will also make the pro racket feel stiffer.

For HS varsity team doubles, I think the regular version will be better, probably feel more alive at net and you don't hit as many groundies so you don't have as much of the need for extra spin.  But I highly recommend you demo both version, almost all stores have demos of ever different type and version of racket they carry.  Usually it cost a few dollars a day to demo, however if you buy a racket from them, they will apply whatever you have paid in demos towards your racket.
