What is the difference between a Selmer Signet 100 clarinet and a Selmer Signet special clarinet?

  1. The selmer signet special is a little "better" for lack of better word, than the 100.  You will usually see the metal at the bottom of the tenon corks used for better stability on the specials and soloists.  I have a Selmer signet special and a soloist and honestly see no difference in them.  I recently purchased a 100 for my son who has decided that he wants to play also.  To be honest, I don't see any difference between the 3 playing wise.  It really boils down to mouthpieces, reeds, embochre and air control.
