Agency or Lawyer??? Adoption lawyers paper work said on bottom left side XXXXXAdoption Agency. Yet he was a common family law attoney.**(Lawyer used by adoptee parents).Birth mother had no lawyer.

  1. Um, I thought it was against the law for the birthmother not to have legal representation....I would definitely get a legal opinion on this one.

Don't really understand what your question is but with both of our children we had our lawyer do the paper work received from the county and then we had to go in front of a judge for approval of the adoption. I can only guess that the lawyer would be the legal person in protection of the child's future, so would be acting as an agency if it was a private adoption.

  4. Birth mother had no lawyer??? That is so not right on so many levels.

    Given what a birth mother is going through, a lawyer should be provided for her to protect HER rights

  5. I'm a little confused by the point of your question.

    We did a private adoption. Once the process began the birth mother had her own attorney and seperate counseling.
