I own a Ibanez GSA60 that retails for like $250 to $300.. I love it and i think it sounds great but what makes the $2,000 Ibanez's better?

  1. Once you get above a certain dollar amount (which I think is around 800$) it becomes like really fine wine....a sort of taste thing. The 2000 $ ibanez might make a big difference for an experienced guitar player, but to a half-drunk listener at a bar gig.....Just like i probably couldn't tell the difference between a 15 dollar bottle of merlot and a 500 dollar bottle. Then there are what I call "spec worshippers...." people who think that those 300 dollar abalone neck inlays and diamond studded whammy bars are really gonna improve their playing. (these pple don't like to hear things like "patience" and "practice")

I generally categorize a guitar into 2 classes 1. musical instruments 2. wall decorations because if I had a 2000 dollar ibanez there is no way i would be dragging it out to gigs and bars to get dropped and kicked and beer spilled all over it. No Way.

  2. the difference is in the electronics... if you buy a 200 dollar guitar, expect a 200 dollar guitar with c****y electronics. If you buy a 2000 guitar expect a guitar that has electronics that are worth what you're paying.

In short, the more expensive one will be more worthwile, last longer and sound better.

  3. the difference between a budget guitar and a pricier model..is the tone wood that is used and the hardware that is used. also you have to take into consideration where it was made. most budget ibanez guitars are made in indonesia or korea. the higher budget guitars are made in japan. same goes for any other company.
