  1. No differences they are both the same some people prefer to light candles and some people like to pour sand to symbolize they are now one

  2. They are the same, just different ways of doing it. Both symbolize unity.

  3. They symbolize the same thing - the uniting of people.  I used the sand ceremony at my wedding and included my 3 year old daughter...my husband had a vial of ivory colored sand, I had a vial of light pink sand and my daughter had a vial of a brighter pink sand and while we poured the vials into one container (which is now sitting on the windowsil of my kitchen) the priest read a really nice "vow"... I don't have the exact one that we used but this is a website that has some samples - http://www.officiantguy.com/sandceremony...

I had many compliments on that part of the ceremony.

  4. Same thing, one is not a fire hazard (some venues will not allow candles in their premises)

    Good luck

  5. I can't speak for a sand ceremony but a candle ceremony is when all parties have one lit candle and they light the one large candle together meaning we were individual but now become one then they blow out the smaller candles they hold ending their seperates lives beginning the one together.

  6. The unity candle is probably the candle ceremony you are speaking of, where there are two smaller candles, which represent the two separate entities, on either side of a bigger candle, which represents the unity of the two.  The smaller candles are lit before the ceremony starts, the couple go together and light the bigger candle with the smaller ones.  The meaning of this is the joining of two people together, but with flames, it can always be extinguished.

The sand ceremony is neat as well, but has a little different meaning.  There are two votives of two different colors of sand, and one large vase in the middle.  Both the bride and groom have their own votive, and they pour into the large vase together.  Once that sand combines, there is no way that it can ever completely be separated again, in comparison, once two people are married, their lives become one, and if they ever choose to separate, they will never be what they once were before they became the one unit.

  7. theya re basically the same meaning, a joining of two to become one!
