You would think, that,as a writer and a fan of vampiric / gothi romance, that I SHOULDA know, but in all honesty, I do not.

When i asked my hubby, he laughed, actually, LAUGHED at me!

he plays role-playing games and he won't tell me.

So,I ask you all, the many knowledgable people here in Y!A.

Laugh if u want to, but at least answer the question, please?

I have seen hooded capes and cloaks so I dont think that could be it.

What is the diff?

  1. A cape usually does not have a hood for the head whereas a cloak usually does.

Also few capes cover the entire body.

A treated cloak can serve as a virtual rain coat.

  2. Ripped off from Wikipedia:

In fashionwear, the word cape usually refers to a shorter garment and cloak to a full-length version of the different types of garment, and although the two are sometimes used synonymously for full-length coverings, the shortest versions are never referred to as cloaks. The fashion cape does not cover the front to any appreciable degree. In rainwear, a cape is usually a long and roomy protective garment worn to keep one dry in the rain.

  3. I believe that a cloak has a hood but a cape does not.

  4. To the best of my knowledge, a cape is generally thinner, and slightly shorter, extending to about the knees, and across the back, while a cloak can extend between the knees and floor, and can generally be drawn about the body to completely cover oneself
