Does anything show up on a college official transcript that is not on the unofficial transcript?

  1. They should be identical.  The official transcript is one that is issued by the university with their stamp on it.  Many places want the transcript mailed directly from the university to them so there is no chance of altering it.  Some will accept an unofficial transcript which you might be able to download from your file or one you carry in, even if it has the stamp.


  2. Official transcript: Printed out from the registrars office.

    Unofficial Transcript: accessible through the internet and printed out from your personal computer.

  3. Unofficial just means that you basically get a printed out version of your transcript. Basically you can log into your Uni/College (whatever system they use) and print out your grades (transcript).

    This is usually used as your primary paper to show that you did attend a certain University with whatever grades and courses completed.  

    The official transcript basically is signed by the University/College and stamped.  There is no difference in what appears on the transcript except that its verified by the University that those are your real grades and course completions.

    So basically if you apply somewhere with your official transcript its a verification that you did complete those courses with those grades.
