  1. Coroners, who are usually doctors, figure out how and why a person died.

Forensic anthropologists don't generally investigate people who have just died. Instead, they investigate suspicious deaths that may have occurred a long time ago. They have a background in studying bones that are very old, and studying all the different ways human bones can change or be changed. Coroners, with their medical background will study the whole body, without a specific focus on bones.

  2. Fornsic anthropologists ar specifically out to solve crimes (murder). Coroners investigate "cause of death" which includs natural deaths.

    My guess, anyway.

  3. Forensic anthropologists work for or consult for coroners, who are government officials (in some localities they are part-time government officials).  In many venues, coroners don't necessarily have academic credentials, but forensic anthropologists always have Ph.D. after their names, and in some instances a lot of other initials besides

  4. both are going to look for a cause of death, however, a forensic anthropologist only deals with bones or cases where an individual is unrecognizable.
