  1. Cyclone - a region of low air pressure associated with stormy weather. a tropical cyclone is called a hurricane or typhoon.

Hurricane - a severe tropical cyclone, with fast spiralling winds that can cause extensive damage.

  2. If you mean a Cyclone (note upper case) like the one that hit Burma (Myanmar), then there is no difference.  They have different names depending on where they are located (in the western Pacific they are known as Typhoons).

Technically, a cyclone (lower case) is ANY rotating low pressure system.

  3. Cyclones are large area of low pressure.   Both typhoons and hurricanes are cyclones or even a major winter storm with a deep area of low pressure.  The mid latitude storms usually occur from 30 to 60 degrees north latitude.

Hurricanes originate in the tropics and in the Atlantic Ocean, while Typhoons affect Pacific waters.
