  1. A Father is there at your conception, a Dad is there your whole life, loving you and taking care of you.

  2. IDK!

  3. For example: My father is the one that I come from. I have his genes. But I have never met him in person. Mostly because he is a deadbeat and a coward, but that's another story.

I do not have a "Dad", only a "Father". I actually refer to him as "The Sperm Donor", because that's the only contribution he has made to my life that hasn't caused pain and suffering.

In other words: Any "male" can be a father. It takes a real MAN, and someone special to be a "Dad".

  4. they both mean the same.

i always thought father had a deeper meaning than dad, but that's just me.

  5. Dad and father mean the same thing.

The difference is the usage.  Saying 'father" is formal.  Saying "dad" shows closeness.

  6. A father is the name on the birth certificate

A Dad is always there for the child, however old they may be.  A Dad will put his child first - in front of work or whatever.

A Dad will kiss your cuts and bruises better, will soothe your worries, be there to comfort you and be the man who will love you the most in your life - no matter what.

  7. a father is someone who looks after you and loves you..so basically he fathers you..a dad is just a guys name on ur birth certificate..it may sound funny but its the truth haha x*x

  8. they both mean the same thing but people who r quite posh tend to use the word father.

  9. A dad is there all the time and a father is not?
