  1. Defensive tackles play on the inside to the left and right of the nose tackles.

Ends play on the outside of them.

  2. the ends line up on the ends, the tackles line up inside of them..the nose tackle is in the middle over the center..

  3. defensive tackles are normally big and slow, and are in the middle to stuff the run and get to the quarterback. You defensive end are usually the more quicker guys, not always as strong as the DT. Defensive ends rush the QB, Stuff Runs, Play inside and outside, and once in a blue moon will even defend a pass.

The tackle's job is to disrupt the middle of the line.  Stop runs, rush QB's.  The end's job is to keep the play from going to the outside, then stop runs and rush QB's

  5. a defensive end plays on the outside of the defensive line and general responsibility is to rush the quarterback. the defensive tackle plays on the inside of the defensive line and general responsibility is to stop the run

  6. Defensive end plays outside of the tackle and has more of a versatile role in that he both pass rushes like the tackle but can also drop back at times and do coverage. Plus, the end is a little more of a glory position as who really knows the tackles but ends get more press and time on ESPN.

  7. the defensive end is on each 'end' of the defensive line. the tackles are inside of the ends.

  8. (Defensive Tackles): are bigger, thicker, stronger, and perhaps a bit slower then the defensive end. Their duties are not to allow anyone up the gaps between an offenses Center and Guards.

(Defensive Ends): in the NFL their taller, more agile, and faster then the Defensive Tackle. They take care of gaps between Offenses Tackles and Guards. Their focus is to pressure Quarterbacks, contain the outside on the line of scrimmage (don't let a sweep occur), and occasionally drop back and defend the flats on a pass.

  9. The position in which you are in the line, the defensive tackles are right in the middle, and the defsnive ends are in the ends of the line

  10. Ends play at each end of the defensive line, tackles in the middle.

In the 3-4, there are two ends and one nose tackle.

  11. the end is on the end of the line and his job is to cover the run tackle is on both run and pass
