What is the difference between a down-flow furnace and a up-flow furnace?

  1. downflows are usually put in attic and upflows are usually in the basement.


  2. The direction of air flow through the furnace.

    They do the same job heating but one is chosen over the other to fit in certain instillation applications.

    Up flow (the air leaves the top)

    Down flow (the air leaves the bottom)
