What is the difference between a dressage and jumping crop?

  1. Dressage whips are longer and meant to be applied behind the leg, whereas jumping crops are shorter and often used on the shoulder, or sometimes behind the leg for extra encouragement. Also, the ends on crops and whips are different; crops usually have a piece of leather, or sometimes fake rubber hand, whereas whips usually have a little wisp on the end.
