I have awful neighbors upstairs and they are very loud at night. I can hear the wife screaming "Don't hit me!" and loud crashes. They have a ten year old girl. I live alone and am scared of the man, the last time I asked them to keep it down, they were on the front porch yelling and I overheard him say "I'll fix her." I have told the landlord, who won't do anything about it. Should I just call the police when it happens or go down and file a report. Please help

  1. When a wife says "Don't hit me," that is domestic violence. Not only should you report it, in many states you MUST report it. The report can be anonymous; but call the police or social services and report it. Do NOT attempt to talk to them about it , like "Please keep it down." If he is violent to his wife, he can be violent to you. Just call and report it.

  2. There is no difference - You should call about the arguments when they happen.  It appears as though some Domestic Violence is occurring.

  3. OMG thats horrible. I guess u should call the police and social service. That litttle girl does not derserve to be in such home.

  4. Call the police the next time this happens. If you feel the child is in danger, call FAC ( Family and Children Services) in your area and give a animus report.  If you are afraid of him, you may not want to file any complaint that has your name on it.  He may be  in titled to any reports.

  5. A police report is a police report.  There is no difference between a police report and a 'formal police report.'  You can't do anything other then file a noise complaint after a certain amout of time.  Call your local government find out when the noise ordinance begins, and then call the police immediately after you hear the noise.

  6. Anytime you hear her yelling don't hit me, you call the police. A formal police report and regular one are the same thing.
