What is the difference between a ionized a polarized?

applea and oranges, really:  Ionization is a particle-stripping of an oxygen atom resulting in an ion.

Polarization is the rearrangrment of the silica molecules of glass  or certain plastics to bend light into a preferred  orientaton.
