What is the difference between a listeroid and a lister cs??

The Lister CS is a 'Cold Start' Engine.  Normally an engine needs some external stimulus to create ignition.  The CS would start every time by simply turning the crank.  That was a giant step when it was invented in 1929.  A Lister CS was often used to power another source of energy like an air compressor or generator.

A Listeroid is a clone or copy of the Lister CS.  They also have the advantage of incorporating modern technology so can be an improvement over the original.
