  1. Mopeds are motorized bicycles. They have pedals. That's the "ped" part.

  2. one is the real deal, the other is a mini-me

  3. A moped is a toy, a motorcycle is transportation.

  4. Motorcycles are cool, mopeds are not. Its as simple as that. You will probably get beat up if you are a guy and seen riding a moped. Unless you are in Europe, cuz lots of crazy Europeans ride those.

  5. A moped is a bicycle with a motor.

  6. mopeds are usually 50cc's and under motorcycles are 51cc's to as big as an engine you can put in there. Mopeds are small and slow motorcycles are biger and faster

  7. Mechanicly a moped has pedals and an assisting engine. Legally licensed 'mopeds' vary by state- some 'scooters' are licensed as 'mopeds' if speed restricted , under 50cc, automatic transmission but may not have pedals. Some states- Wisconsin is one- will let a pedal equiped moped go to larger engine if no transmission- 130cc. Motorcycles and licensed as motorcycle scooters usually above 150cc, have geared transmission. 'Motordriven cycle' usually defined as under 150 cc or under 15 hp -some places 5 hp- and are not in US allowed on interstate highways.  Honda made a 70cc motorcycle/motordriven cycle that had a 3 speed trtansmission - they also used frame and base engine with pedals and centrifugul clutch to sell as moped in some markets.

  8. Mopeds are a class of low-powered motorized vehicle under 50cc, generally two-wheeled. Moped classification is designed to allow the use of small motorized vehicles, avoiding the safety restrictions and license requirement of larger motorcycles.

Legally, mopeds are normally defined by limits on engine displacement, speed, power output, transmissions, or the requirement of pedals. In some countries, the legal driving age for a moped is lower than for larger motorcycles, and consequently mopeds are popular among the youth.

Typically, mopeds are restricted to 30-75 km/h (18-47 mph) and engines less than 50 cc. Some localities require pedals, thus making them a form of hybrid vehicle, using both human power and machine power.

  9. A moped has pedals and is assisted by an engine for hills and grades. a motorcycle is powered by just an engine. most mopeds have an engine less then 50cc.
