  1. The 91/30 ain't so bad on recoil. I just got one a month ago. Heck I just shot 77 rounds through it this morning and the shoulder is fine. I can't speak to the M44 though, I hear they do kick a bit more.

  2. The M44 Is the carbine version and has an integral bayonet. The 91/30 is the Standard long rifle. Both shoot 7.62X54R.

  3. How much they weigh (maybe?), 9 inches, an integrated bayonet, and how sore they'll make your shoulder.

The m91/30 rifle weighs in at almost 9 pounds. The carbine versions typically weigh in at less than that, though the m44 lists as having the same weight as the longer rifle.

The m91/30 is 49 inches long. The m44 is 40 inches long.

The m91/30 uses a socket bayonet. The m44 has an integrated bayonet.

The m91/30 is a bruiser, but at least its a fairly large rifle that balances well. That tends to offset the recoil a bit. The carbines tend to be less well balanced and will have more felt recoil. They'll also have a h**l of a lot more muzzle blast.

  4. hahahahahah he said like a pissed off mule hahahahahaaa, funny and true hahhahahaa

  5. 91/30 has a longer Barrel

m44 is a sharter carbine version and has a permanently attached folding bayonet

The m44 has a bit more recoil due to its shorter length and can produce fireballs when shot in the dusk

  6. The 91/30 was the Model 1891 three line rifle re-issued from 1930 on.

The M44 Carbine was essentially the M38 carbine with a folding spike bayonet attached.

The 91/30 has better accuracy, but the M44 is shorter and easier to manage.

  7. Barrel length mainly.  The 91/30 with bayonet mounted is long, very long. It is also more accurate due to the longer barrel; and the bayonet comes off and you can use it for a paperweight.  The M-44 is like a carbine length 30-06 and it has a muzzle blast that is a sight to behold (best viewed from a distance). It is easier to carry due to the shorter length but is louder and yada.  If you get one of either buy yourself a limbsaver slip on recoil pad; all military stocks have a metal butt plate and are made sort of short so one size fits all.  The slip on pad lets you set the rifle down without having it skitter and fall; and the pad gives you just enough more stock length to make it more comforable to shoot plus eliminates bruising.  Wear glasses and ear protection with that M44; it is really impressive.

  8. 91/30 kicks like a mule

M44 kicks like a pissed off mule

  9. I have a couple of each, and I don't think they kick all that much.
