What is the difference between a mp3 player and a Ipod? ?

and which sould i get? I just want to listen to some music nothing more so i don't need all the complicated stuff, ya know?

In my opinion.. mp3s are a lot better than an iPod

iPods require iTunes and are more complicated when it comes to putting music and all that on it..

where an mp3 just requires dragging the file into the mp3 folder,

most mp3s have more features and have better sound quality

an iPod is apples brand of MP3 players. It will play mp3s and several other formats, most other brands will also.

iPods are more popular and cost more,

I personaly prefer iPods

I would suggest not buying from itunes because they use AAC format which only ipod's can read so if you use itunes you are limited to ipod's when in the future you may wan't to switch. I use Walmart.com tracks are only 89 cents and they have all the songs I want(mainly rock) and download them directly to windows media player in mp3 format which Ipod's can read if you choose to get one. Then it is really easy to add them because you can just use WMP and sync them onto youre device.

An Ipod is just a type of mp3 player and there are plenty of other options just as good for cheaper because if you buy an Ipod nano you are paying for the logo. Don't get me wrong they are good players but tend to break easily and dont have the best sound quality or all the extra's you should get for spending more. I would suggest a Sansa fuze. They are cheaper and reliable plus have features that Ipod's dont have like radio, voice recording and micro SDHC slot for more expansion and better sound quality than nano (this is not a opinion but a fact read the reviews). Or you might want to try a creative product.

Unless off course you care mainly abou having what everyone else has  than get a nano.

Get an ipod because it has many features while an mp3 player is a piece of **** with no store to buy music
