  1. Well usually the power forward spot is a guy that goes for the rebounds and stuff also known as the garbage player, but now they are alot of great PF example Kevin Garnett. So nothing much

  2. center is like the guy who is very tall and gets alot of blocks

pf is  good rebounding and alll that

  3. center is much taller than the power forward

  4. Center - assigned under the ring, basically 4 to 5 ft radius from the ring... ranges from 6'9 to 7 ft above...uses size and/or strength to score... last line of defense... in NBA quickness and timing for a center is a major advantage... must have wide array of post moves and/or solid defense

    examples

Shaq - uses strength, size, and post moves

    D. Howard - uses size, strength, and athleticism

Duncan - uses size, timing, and post moves

Yao - uses size, shooting, and post moves

    B. Wallace - uses strength, athleticism, and solid defense

Power Forward - assigned from under the ring to 15 ft radius from the ring. Almost always quicker than Centers... uses combinations of post moves, size, strength, quickness... ranges from 6'6 (Barkley) to 7'0 (dirk nowitzki)... in NBA, the PF position has a wide diversity...

Duncan - uses size, timing, post moves

Nowitzki - uses range, size, and post moves

R, Wallace - uses range, size, post moves, and defense

    J. O'Neal - uses strength, size, post moves, and defense and a little bit of range

Karl Malone - uses size, strength, post moves

Stoudemire - uses strength, quickness, and athleticism

Barkley - uses strength, quickness, range, and athleticism

  5. not really anything just usually size

  6. well i play both positions when needs be and centers they normally post up in the key but have to be fast cause u only get 3 seconds in the key. They should be tall and big would help too. centers must be able to get into the key as defence can make it hard.

Power forwards should be able to shoot the ball and drive. They need to make wise decisions such as taking high percentage shots (easy shots for the forward to make) they should be able to pass pretty well but not as much as a point guard. He should be able to slice by the defence and take it to the hoop.

Prime example look at Kobe Bryant

  7. the skill level is basically the difference. a center is what you would call an "in the paint" kinda guy. they're not the type to shake and bake and hit 15 footers and beyond. a power forward is about the same as a center except that they have the agility to extend their game further away from the basket and is able to create better separation from the defender to attack the basket or get a shot. you may see a center suprise you and extend their game out every now-and-then but their bread and butter is to bang down low

  8. Center is taller nd more dominant

  9. Centers are supposed the primary defender closest to the basket and is supposed to help score most of his or her points very close to the basket.  A power forward is also expected to score most of his or her points close to the basket and does defend the low post as well.  However, power forwards are expected to be quicker than centers and should be able to defend toward the perimeter in help situations.  And as ideal power forwards are typically shorter and not as strong as ideal centers, they should be able to have a reliable mid range shot, and many of them are also able to shoot from three quite regularly.

  10. I think of centers being the shot blocker and power forwards having more range on their shots.  Of course there are alot of good defensive power forwards as well.

  11. Well its like this.....

A Power Forward is usually way more explosive than a Center but a Center is usually way taller. A Center normally doesn't put as much points on the board as a PF but he gets way more blocks. PF can play the perimeter or has a pretty nice mid range game. Centers don't. The Center is also a more defensive than offensive threats. And its the other way around for PF.

    PF- Amare Stoudamire

    C- Shaq
