  1. I agree with Sharon. Montessori is a style, a technique of teaching, just as Suzuki is a style of teaching music.

    I've heard great things about the program, from people I respect. However, I have also heard that the program is overrated. It's best to look into the school yourself and make your own assessment.

    Also, each school might be a little different, depending on who is running the program.


  2. It depends on what you are looking for.  Montessori schools have a specific style of teaching:

    Montessori educational practice helps children develop creativity, problem solving, social, and time-management skills, to contribute to society and the environment, and to become fulfilled persons in their particular time and place on Earth. The basis of Montessori practice in the classroom is respected individual choice of research and work, and uninterrupted concentration rather than group lessons led by an adult.
