  1. A pronoun takes place of a noun. like I, him, her. it, he. she, us, them

A proper noun is like a name. something PROPER. the opposite.

  2. A pronoun is shorthand for a noun already mentioned or implied.

You, I, me, it, he, her, them are all pronouns.

A proper noun is how you refer to a specific person place or thing.

    Examples:

John Smith as opposed to "man"

Chrysler Building as opposed to "skyscraper"

    Chicago as opposed to "city"

    Hope this helped.  :)

  3. Proper nouns always start with capital letters:  Latoya, Lincoln, Lexus.  Pronouns take the place of common nouns and proper nouns: she, he, it, her, his, theirs, we, us, you - just to name a few!
