What is the difference between a "Leather Cleaner" and "Leather Lotion" ?

Both bottles are in the same kit for my leather couch.

The Leather Cleaner says it "cleans and smooths"

The Leather Lotion says it "preserves and smooths"

Which one should I use first for my leather couch ?

One is to soften the couch- the lotion is like whern you buy a new baseball mit- you have to soften it up and make it work able- that's wat that is. Cleaner is just that a cleaner

every day you wash your face with the soap and then apply lotion. same thing with leather items - use cleaner first and then apply protective leather lotion.

You use the cleaner first to remove surface dirt and grime.  It does have some moisturizers in the formulation which enable it to soften the leather hides and helps float the dirt to the surface.  The Lotion not only moisturizes the leather for longevity so it doesn't dry out and start to crack, but it also has protectorants that resist the dirt and grime, so you use that afterwards.

leather cleaner is a more powerful mix of chemicals usually. cleaner will actually wear the leather away after a lot of use. lotion conditions the leather. preserves it
