my mom and I joined a gym and learned about the sport racketball. When she went to the store she baught 2 rackets that didn't say is they were tennis or racketball rackets. They look alot like tennis rackets due to the oval shape of the head, so I was wondering if they are

tennis rackets or not

  1. Racquetball rackets are smaller.

  2. Racketball raquets tend to be either very long and ovalish, or squareish. They also do not have a "neck" which is the part on a tennis raquet that seperates the grip from the strings. Also, they are not strung at the bottom, leaving a pretty big triangle from the bottom to a couple inches up. A tennis raquet tend to have either circular shaped heads, or slightly oval shaped heads. they do have necks, and they are strung a little bit closer to the bottom than the raketball racked, leaving less of a space at the bottom. Plus, that space is a semi circle and not a triangle. It is very possible to use a racketball raquet in tennis and vice versa, it just does not happen very often.

    Hope this helps :)

  3. racketball rackets look almost square, and it goes straight from the grip to the frame.

tennis rackets keep going straight a few inches after the grip ends, then slowly splits out and forms the little hole that someone else mentioned.

so if it looks short and  'stumpy' it's probably a racketball  racket, and if it looks like a tennis racket... then it's probably a tennis racket!

  4. Tennis rackets usually have a whole in the part above the grip, it doenst make a big difference but if you are a serious racket ball player i would just look for a racket ball racket.
