  1. The broker, the "realtor" is just a sales person who joined NAR.

  2. The salesperson works under the Broker and the assistant Broker works under the Broker. The Broker is responsible for the assistant Broker and salesperson. The term Realtor is only used for persons who belong to to National Association of Realtors. I am a Broker and Owner.

  3. If an agent plans to one-day open her own realty office, she gets her brokers license by taking classes and paying some money.  Until she opens her own office, she continues to work for someone else.  She is truly a broker but she is not "the" broker for her current company.  That's why she is called an "assistant" broker.   I'm a broker.  I opened my own company in 2001. I'm having fun.

Status is not a factor.  One is not better than the other. /
