What is the difference between a republican and a democrat ?

No much.  We are all Americans who want the best for our country.  I am an Independent so I can sit here and laugh at the trolls on both sides.

Both parties believe in morals and ethics, just as all of us in this country (for the most part) believe in morals and ethics. You're doing no help to this country by peddling some bull about how only Republicans believe in morals. How many Ann Coulter books do you own?

I'll start with Libertarian's... because it's a good base to make sense of the other two parties.

You are a Libertarian if you believe that:

- People have the right to make their own decisions in life, regarding who they marry (and their gender), what they put into their bodies (drugs, alcohol, etc), and that they should accept the consequences.

The problem resulting is a hugely varying difference in social classes. Even if we started on an even playing field, the rich would still get richer, while the poor get poorer, because some people gravitate towards drugs, alcohol... these things tend to make you lazy and less driven. The driven people will rise to the top.

Classical Conservatives believe that taxes and government control and programs such as welfare, etc... should be minimal, EXCEPT for when it comes to peoples personal liberties.

Since many Republicans (classically) are the more driven type, in order to feel better about living in their riches, they decide to legislate against the things that are making the poor poorer (drugs, alcohol, etc...) in hopes that they better their situation.

If these people choose to ignore the governments rules anyways, and decide to grow marijuana, the government will send men with guns to come and drag them to a jail cell. If they don't want to leave, the government will shoot them.

If many conservatives had their way, the same would be done to those that choose to make or drink alcohol.

Classical Liberals believe that you should be allowed to make your own decisions whether they hurt you or not, and if they hurt you....in order to make things fair, we must take the money from the people who have worked for it, and cover your expenses and needs, and if they can't pay, we'll just send the police over with guns to take their house, and if they don't want to come out, shoot them.

Either way, there is a gun in the room.

A republican beleives in moral standards and is pro-life.

its just the governments version of gang wars red vs blue. you cant tell me that ever republican has the same opinion on every issue just because they chose to be republican they just do it for the power. just like gangsters.
